Abstract:This experiment aims to study the effects of traditional Chinese medicine feed additives on the immune function, amino acids and immune function of Gannan Tibetan sheep. We randomly divided 60 Tibetan sheep into 6 groups, which were 3 control groups and 3 experimental groups, with 10 Tibetan sheep in each group. The basal diet of the experimental group was supplemented with 1% of locally sourced sevenflavor traditional Chinese medicine feed additives. The pretest period is 10 days and the formal test period is 90 days. The results showed that the immune function, amino acids and fatty acids of Gannan Tibetan sheep in the control group were significantly improved compared with the experimental group (P< 0.05). Tests have shown that adding traditional Chinese medicine feed to the diet of Gannan Tibetan sheep can significantly improve the immune function, amino acids and fatty acids of Gannan Tibetan sheep. This shows that adding different doses of Chinese medicinal materials is beneficial to the healthy development of Tibetan sheep.

Abstract:In order to study and promote the advantages of excellent breeds and better serve the promotion and application of seed selection, breeding and mutton production performance, this study selected three breeds of valleytype Tibetan sheep, Qinghai semifine wool sheep and Qinghai Tibetan sheep, and Jie sheep of different ages. We carry out muscle nutrient composition analysis and amino acid content determination. The results show that the main nutritional indicators and testing data of valleytype Tibetan sheep are crude protein content of 21.00%, crude fat 3.15%, cholesterol 0.3650 (mg/g), volatile base nitrogen 0.1190 (mg/g), and total mineral content 6 785 (mg/g), energy is 4.74 (kJ/g). Its total amino acid content is 16.08% higher than Qinghai semifine wool sheep and 5.06% higher than Qinghai Tibetan sheep. The conclusion of this study is that the content of volatile basic acids can reflect the freshness of mutton, and anything within 0.15mg/g is considered fresh. This shows that the mutton tested in this analysis has high energy, high protein, low fat, low cholesterol and rich amino acid content, and is a pollutionfree food.

Abstract:Contagious ovine pleuropneumonia, also known as mycoplasmal pneumonia, is a highly contagious infectious disease caused by mycoplasma. Its clinical features are high fever, cough, and serous and fibrinous inflammation of the chest and pleura. The disease mainly affects lambs aged 1 to 3 months. It often takes acute and chronic forms and has a high mortality rate. It is a common respiratory disease in sheep breeding. Antibiotics are mostly used for clinical treatment, but drug resistance often occurs, resulting in poor efficacy. In recent years, we have used early application of Chinese herbal medicine supplemented with more sensitive antibiotics for treatment, and achieved good therapeutic effects. This article observes the efficacy of four commonly used groups of traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions and selects a group of Chinese medicine prescriptions with the best efficacy, in order to provide solutions for clinical treatment.

Abstract:Praziquantel plays an important role in the prevention and control of hydatid disease in dogs. Effective prevention and control of hydatid disease can basically be achieved by regularly administering an appropriate amount of praziquantel to dogs, and promptly disposing of the feces during the medication period. Nowadays, there are many kinds of dogs bred in pastoral areas, including local indigenous dogs, Tibetan mastiffs, pet dogs, huskies, etc. (not pure breeds, but belong to the FN generation, but they are similar in appearance). Whether the breed and age of dogs affect the anthelmintic effect of arsequinone. Studying these factors clearly will help to implement refined medication for dogs in the prevention and control of hydatid disease, and comprehensively improve the efficiency of medication and deworming. This lays a solid foundation for effective prevention and control of hydatid disease.

Abstract:This experiment explores the production performance analysis and analysis of male and female lambs produced under different crossbreeding modes such as Texel sheep, Kazakh sheep, Teha cross F1, Teha cross F2, nearclass F2, backcross F2, and cross F2. Blood physiological and biochemical analysis. The research results show that there are differences in blood biochemical indicators among different crossgeneration sheep populations. There are also differences in local adaptability, disease resistance and autoimmunity between introduced varieties and hybrid improved populations. There are also differences in the production performance of lambs produced by different crossbreeding methods. The F1 generation has the most obvious hybrid vigor and is the most economical hybrid method. This provides a theoretical basis for crossbreeding of Kazakh sheep for meat.

Abstract:Hu sheep breeding has formed an industrial chain in China, which is of great significance to effectively link poverty alleviation to rural revitalization. However, in the production practice, it was found that the Hu sheep produce more lambs, have low survival rate, and grow slowly, and have a high incidence rate because of ewe mastitis. In recent years, forced supplementary feeding technology has been adopted to exercise the digestive system of lambs in advance, and good results have been achieved. This study carried out a comparison of two forced supplementary feeding methods of concentrate and concentrate + forage in a largescale Hu sheep breeding farm, and made a comparison from the growth rate, growth and development of digestive tract, slaughter performance and histomorphology of gastrointestinal tract of lambs. Results showed that the effect of early forced supplementary feeding of concentrate + forage was significantly better than that of concentrate alone. The research results are of great significance for the largescale Hu sheep breeding farm to improve the survival rate of lambs, reduce the incidence rate of ewe mastitis, and promote the quality and efficiency of Hu sheep breeding.

Abstract:This study used Cryptosporidium spp. 18S rRNA as the target gene, and found that 18 of the 101 fresh fecal samples collected were positive through nested PCR detection. The Cryptosporidium infection rates in sheep farms in different areas were 36% (18/50) in Liji Town, 0% (0/30) in Xin'an Town, and 0% (0/21) in Duigogang Town. No Cryptosporidium was detected. However, through the analysis of 4 sheep farms, it was found that 2 sheep farms (50%) were positive for Cryptosporidium infection, and the infection rates of different sheep farms were significantly different. Therefore, the infection rate of Cryptosporidium was simply evaluated by region, is debatable. The infection rate of Cryptosporidium parvum in goats was 33.3%, and the infection rate of Cryptosporidium parvum in Hu sheep was 2%. The infection rate of Cryptosporidium parvum in fattening sheep aged 2 to 6 months was 36%, and that of growing sheep aged 6 to 10 months (0%). The Cryptosporidium 18S rRNA gene fragment sequence analysis was performed on the samples that tested positive. We found that all 18 samples were Cryptosporidium xiaoi and there was no Cryptosporidium ubiquitum. In 1 goat farm and 1 Yanghu sheep farm that tested positive for Cryptosporidium infection, there was Cryptosporidium parvum infection, but there was no Cryptosporidium ubiquiti, and no Cryptosporidium parvum and Cryptosporidium ubiquita were found. of mixed infections. Current data suggest that Cryptosporidium shooni has a higher infection rate in goats aged 2 to 6 months (33.3%) and Hu sheep (2%). These 18 samples came from two largescale sheep farms, belonging to two sheep farms in Liji Town.

Abstract:Carrying integrating ideological and political elements in animal husbandry microbiology course is helpful to establish correct ideological and moral system and firm ideal and conviction of animal science major students. The teaching method of PBL is an important teaching method of ideological and political education design in animal husbandry microbiology course. It takes vivid human deeds and historical events as cases, and raises questions to inspire students to understand the ideological and political connotation of the cases, so as to improve students learning knowledge and their own ideological and moral level. Under the background of COVID19 epidemic, how to effectively integrate internal ideological and political elements and contains them in the course teaching should be included in the ideological and political teaching tasks of animal husbandry microbiology course. This paper discusses this problem in depth. Based on the emergence of many advanced person, deeds and related events in the COVID19 epidemic, teachers use heuristics to ask questions and guide students to think and discuss, so as to effectively enhance the participation of students. Combined with the study and explanation of professional knowledge, students can realize the ideological and moral significance of cases, and then internalize it into their own ideals and beliefs. In this way, students can not only explore the true meaning of science, but also cultivate patriotism and professional selfidentity.

Abstract:Since the introduction of African swine fever into our country, the struggle has been fierce between the bureaucratic approach that only considers the reality of the raging epidemic and ignores the need to introduce seed sources, and the blind approach that only considers the need for introduction and ignores the reality of the raging epidemic. The "Animal Epidemic Prevention Law of the People's Republic of China", "Animal Quarantine Management Measures" and "Animal Husbandry Law of the People's Republic of China" have been revised successively and will come into effect on May 1, 2021, December 1, 2022, and March 1, 2023 respectively. Under this background, what should be done to introduce largescale pig farms? Based on the experience of epidemic prevention and control and the lessons learned from the introduction of breeding sources in history, the author has formed a set of methods that take into account the animal epidemic prevention requirements of both supply and demand and ensure the quality of breeding pig introduction during the technology promotion process. It has been revised and improved in accordance with the revision of laws and regulations. The revised and improved largescale pig farm introduction practices require the scientific formulation of the introduction source plan, preparation of isolation conditions in advance, and effective onsite verification by the introduction team. Abstract:This study aims to understand the prevalence of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) in Jiuquan City. This experiment collected 638 samples from five agricultural counties and cities in Jiuquan City, and used reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction (fluorescence RTPCR) method for nucleic acid detection. We analyze the prevalence in different regions, different growth periods, and different feeding modes. The results showed that a total of 29 PRRS nucleic acid positive samples were detected among 638 samples, and the PRRS positive infection rate was 4.55%. The PRRS positive infection rate in different regions ranges from 0-7.95%. The PRRS positive infection rates in slaughterhouses, largescale farms, and freerange households were 0, 2.96, and 6.82% respectively. The PRRS positive infection rates of breeding boars, fattening pigs, piglets, and sows were 0, 3.1, 5.38, and 6.36% respectively. The results showed that PRRS was sporadic in Jiuquan City. Largescale farms are highly standardized and have advanced feeding and management models with low PRRS positive infection rates. Piglets and sows are more susceptible to this disease. This test will provide technical support for the comprehensive prevention and control of PRRS in our city.

Abstract:Brucellosis is one of the major zoonotic diseases in pastoral areas, which is affected by market and other factors. Frequent exchanges between animals and their products in pastoral and agricultural areas increase the risk of occurrence, prevalence, and spread of animal diseases. In order to further strengthen the prevention and control of brucellosis in pastoral areas, the Sunan County Huangcheng Sheep Breeding Farm and the Semenu Alpine Fine Wool Sheep Breeding Stock Breeding Company were used as demonstration sites to integrate brucellosis detection and purification methods and standardize feeding. Comprehensive prevention and control measures include managing behavior, strictly controlling crossregional movement, and forcibly culling positive sheep. This explores the scientific prevention and control strategies and successful experiences of brucellosis among livestock in our county. This provides a reference and replicable integrated demonstration experience for households, villages, and townships (towns) in our county to implement animal brucellosis purification and epidemic prevention.

Abstract:Porcine Pseudorabies (PRV) is a viral infectious disease that causes nervous system dysfunction. It mainly harms pregnant sows and lactating piglets. Sows show reproductive disorders after infection, while piglets mainly show neurological symptoms and have a high mortality rate. To prevent this disease, we need to scientifically vaccinate susceptible pigs, strengthen comprehensive disinfection of the entire farm, and improve the biosecurity management level of pig farms. At present, there are no specific chemical drugs that can treat porcine pseudorabies. The mortality rate of sick pigs can be reduced through symptomatic medication.

Abstract:Cow abortion is a common issue in dairy cattle farming. If not actively prevented and treated promptly, it can lead to extended breeding cycles and reduced calving rates, thus causing significant economic losses to the livestock industry. This study analyses cases of cow abortion that occurred on a specific cattle farm between October 2022 and September 2023. The statistical results revealed that out of 29 reproductively capable cows, 29 calves were born, but unfortunately, 9 of the newborns died, resulting in an alarming abortion rate of nearly onethird. To identify the underlying causes of these abortions, this research conducted comprehensive investigations and tests on various factors, including environmental conditions, feed quality, and medication practices. The study revealed severe contamination of silage feed with mold and a significant excess of Aflatoxin B1. Considering these findings and the overall examination, the preliminary conclusion points to prolonged consumption of Aflatoxincontaminated feed as the fundamental cause of cow abortions. To mitigate the abortion rate, this study proposes a series of targeted preventive and control measures. These measures include monitoring animal health, regulating feed management, and conducting regular tests for mold toxins. The objective is to minimize the incidence of cow abortions and provide valuable assistance to fellow professionals and cattle breeders.

Abstract:Lymphatic extravasation is a relatively rare surgical disease in clinical practice. The main cause is the intractable edema caused by the rupture of the local lymphatic vessels and the accumulation of exuded lymph fluid in the subcutaneous tissue due to the external force. The disease is easily confused with hematoma, inflammatory edema and other subcutaneous edema diseases, resulting in failure of diagnosis and treatment. This case reports in detail the diagnosis and treatment process of lymphatic extravasation swelling caused by the rupture of lymphatic vessels at the wrist joint of sheep, which is a reference for clinical veterinarians.

Abstract:Experimental teaching is the core link in the teaching system of veterinary medicine, and experimental reports are an important carrier for students to master experimental principles, analyze experimental phenomena, and write experimental results. This is an integral part of experimental teaching. Currently, in the experimental teaching process of veterinary subjects, paperbased experimental reports are used as the main assessment mode for experimental courses. There are problems such as the inability to reproduce the dynamic experimental process and the inability to objectively and truly describe experimental phenomena in text. Traditional paperbased experimental reports can no longer meet the current teaching needs of college students. In the process of experimental teaching in veterinary subjects, most animal experimental phenomena cannot be properly described in words. Digital methods such as pictures, videos, and animations can more intuitively display the pathological changes in organs before and after the onset of animal diseases. This helps students deepen their experimental skills and professional knowledge by writing experimental reports. On this basis, a teaching model of digital experimental reports was proposed and promoted and applied in actual teaching practice. Through the implementation of digital experimental reports, students' experimental teaching classroom response has been good, and the teaching quality has been significantly improved. This article is summarized here. This is expected to provide a reference for improving experimental teaching methods and improving teaching quality.

Abstract:Sheep are the basis for survival and the hope of getting rich for ethnic minorities in rural areas of provinces and cities, and carry the stability and important mission of many ethnic minorities in frontier areas. Due to the cold climate and heavy rainfall in the northwest this year, frequent sandstorms, and harsh climate environment, if feeding and management are not in place, a large number of pathogens will exist in the polluted environment, and the chance of exposure to pathogens will be greater. Sheep foot rot will directly affect the production performance of sheep. and reproductive performance. This has caused huge economic losses to herdsmen and farmers. Based on the practical research and analysis of the causes of local sheep disease and clinical symptoms, we can provide symptomatic treatment with medicine and future preventive measures, which can be used as a reference for the majority of herdsmen and breeding enterprises.
