      Abstract (20) HTML (0) PDF 695.64 K (36) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The purpose of this experiment was to study the effects of Qizao extract on egg quality, lipid metabolism and serum antioxidant indexes of Yugan silky chickens. 120 240-day-old Yugan silky chickens in good body condition were selected for the experiment and randomly divided into 4 groups with 6 replicates in each group and 5 chickens in each replicate. The control group was fed the basal diet. The experimental group added 100,200 and 400 mg/kg of Qizao extract to the basal diet, respectively. The test period was 56 days. The results showed that:(1) The eggshell yellowness of Yugan silky chicken increased linearly with the increase of Qizao extract (P<0.05), and Haugh unit, egg yolk index and eggshell redness changed quadratically (P<0.05),there were no significant differences among the other egg quality indexes among the groups.(2)Adding Qizao extract to diet had no significant difference on serum triglyceride, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol of Yugan silky chicken. (3) Qizao extract had no effect on the cholesterol content of Yugan black-bone egg yolk. (4) The expression levels of VLDLR in Yugan silky chicken ovary and HMGR in liver showed a quadratic curve with the increase of Qizao extract (P < 0.05). (5) The content of CAT, T-AOC and MDA in Yugan silky chicken serum showed a quadratic curve with the increase of Qizao extract (P < 0.05). It can be seen that adding Qizao extract to the diet can improve the antioxidant capacity of Yugan silky chickens, and regulate the content of egg yolk cholesterol by regulating the fat metabolism in serum and inhibiting the expression levels of HMGR and VLDLR genes. The optimal addition amount is 200 mg/kg.

Abstract:This experiment studies the optimal mixing ratio of alfalfa and whole corn for silage. The test set alfalfa singlestorage group, corn singlestorage group, and the ratio of alfalfa to whole plant rice and corn were 25∶75, 33∶67, 40∶60, 50∶50, 60∶40, 67∶33, 75∶25 respectively. There are 7 mixed silage groups. These are a total of 9 treatment groups. The results showed that compared with alfalfa single storage, mixed silage could effectively improve the fermentation quality of silage, but the nutritional quality was lower. Among all the mixed silage treatments, the fermentation quality of the mixed silage in the groups with the ratio of alfalfa to whole plant rice corn at 60∶40, 67∶33, and 75∶25 was better. Among the three groups, the mixed silage with a mixing ratio of 60∶40 had the highest relative feeding and could be popularized and applied in production.

    • Prevention and Treatment Measures for Common Yellow Cattle Abnormal Estrus in Veterinary Clinic

      2023(5):100-103. CSTR:

      Abstract (12) HTML (0) PDF 448.62 K (44) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:With the continuous promotion of agricultural mechanization, the original agricultural farming method of Erniu carrying the lever has gradually withdrawn from agricultural production. This was replaced by mechanized farming in agriculture. The use of cattle used to cultivate land has gradually become mainly for calving. There are no yellow cattle farming in the farmland, and the cattle herders are gone on the hillside. Instead, they are reared in captivity. Beef cattle are mainly raised by intensive fattening. Through the statistics of cases encountered in veterinary clinics, it is found that the cases of abnormal estrus in cows are gradually increasing, as high as 30% to 40%. According to the actual veterinary clinical work, the author found a rule that when the winter calving season comes, the number of cows with dystocia increases. After the cows calving, the farmers will feed them with corn paste every day, and the rumen accumulation will also increase. The price of silage in winter is high, and resources are scarce. They are worried that the cows will lose weight after calving and the milk secretion will be insufficient. During this process, many cows will suffer from puffiness, calf diarrhea, and rumen acidosis in cows. The most important thing is that the cows after calving are fed a large amount of concentrate for a long time, which leads to the body fat of the cows. In the diagnosis of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine, this belongs to a constitution of stagnation of cold and dampness, and the follicles are underdeveloped or stunted. Coupled with the longterm incorrect use of various veterinary drugs by animal owners, it leads to drug abuse and damage to animal bodies. The breeding industry is an industry that requires a lot of hard work. Only through the hard work of the farmers can the pastures of cattle and sheep be rich and thrive. The hard work of animal epidemic prevention workers can bring about the health and stability of animal populations. Animal husbandry and veterinary workers work with farmers to serve animals from breeding to slaughter.

    • Pathogenic Characteristics and Comprehensive Prevention and Control Measures of Sheep Paratuberculosis

      2023(5):113-117. CSTR:

      Abstract (11) HTML (0) PDF 454.44 K (60) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Paratuberculosis of sheep is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium paratuberculosis with intractable diarrhea and significant thickening of intestinal mucosa as the main clinical features. Most of them present invisible infection. The disease has a long incubation period, spreads rapidly, and is globally distributed. Its harm to animal husbandry is huge. Based on the actual situation of the research progress of ovine paratuberculosis, this paper summarizes the current research and discussion on the etiology, epidemiology, pathogenic mechanism, clinical diagnosis and comprehensive immune prevention and control of ovine paratuberculosis. This provides a theoretical basis for the diagnosis and prevention of paratuberculosis in sheep. On this basis, it is proposed that the government needs to formulate effective policies for the prevention and control of paratuberculosis in sheep. Farms need to strengthen feeding management and form a scientific and effective prevention and control system, which provides theoretical support for the sustainable and healthy development of animal husbandry in China.

      Abstract (18) HTML (0) PDF 395.12 K (29) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:In order to effectively detect and purify the brucellosis population of dairy goats and accelerate the healthy and steady development of the dairy goat industry, this paper used the dual detection method of brucellosis antigen and antibody to detect and analyze a dairy goat farm in Shaanxi. The results showed that when sheep were introduced into a dairy goat farm, 36 of the 228 sheep in the whole flock were infected by single antibody detection, and the infection rate reached 15.79%. disinfect. Three months later, a wholegroup test was carried out on the remaining 192 sheep, and 18 positive sheep were detected. After the same purification method as last time, the antigen and antibody double detection method was used for the remaining 174 sheep 3 months later. Eight sheep were detected by the brucellosis antibody detection card, and 8 sheep were detected by the brucellosis antigen detection card. 10 sheep, and the numbers of the sheep detected by the brucellosis antibody test card and the brucellosis antigen test card are completely different. Three months later, the remaining 156 sheep were tested by the same method, and only one positive sheep was detected. After 6 months, the remaining 155 sheep were tested by the same method, and no brucellosispositive sheep were found. The use of antigen and antibody double detection continued to detect positive sheep at 3 months and 6 months. The conclusion of this experiment is that compared with the brucellosis detection method with a single antibody, the detection method using both antigen and antibody has a significantly lower positive rate of brucellosis, and can achieve the expected purification effect in a short period of time. This shows that the use of double antibodies is more effective in the detection of sheep brucellosis, and it has more significance for popularization.

    • Diagnosis, Treatment and Etiological Analysis of Purulent Endometritis in Improved Offspring Cows

      2023(5):133-136. CSTR:

      Abstract (12) HTML (0) PDF 420.76 K (69) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Beishan Township, Menyuan County has started the crossbreeding and improvement of local cattle in 7 administrative villages since 2016, and the work has achieved remarkable results. This has been recognized by farmers. However, some farmers lack sufficient knowledge of cattle physiology. To maximize the breeding benefits by shortening the postpartum recovery period of fertile cows, this leads to the incomplete recovery of postpartum uterine functions and the mating of cows. At the same time, they do not pay attention to environmental hygiene, causing pathogenic microorganisms to invade the uterine wall, causing inflammation of the uterus and secondary suppurative endometritis. This results in delayed or infertile cow conception and economic loss to the farmer. This paper discusses the concept of purulent endometritis, diagnosis of clinical symptoms, etiology analysis and treatment for reference.

      Abstract (12) HTML (0) PDF 319.23 K (33) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:In veterinary clinics and animal husbandry practices, cases of allergic reactions in cattle caused by inadvertent use of drugs often occur. In such cases, the etiology is known, diagnosis can usually be made quickly and treatment can be initiated promptly. However, cases of allergic reactions to corn stalks eaten by cattle are rare. Corn stover has the advantages of high carbohydrate content, relatively high moisture content, good palatability and high yield. This is one of the important crops that have been popularized in recent years. Cases of cattle allergic to corn stover are rare. When looking for pathogens, veterinary workers often don't consider corn stalks, and cannot make accurate clinical diagnosis and rescue in time. In the process of diagnosis and treatment, the author encountered a case of allergic reaction caused by cattle eating fresh and tender corn stalks. We applied antiallergic drugs for symptomatic treatment according to the diagnosis results, and received good results on the same day, indicating that the diagnosis was accurate. Through the diagnosis and treatment report of this case, this paper hopes to help veterinary practitioners in the diagnosis and treatment of this kind of disease.
