Taurine is a semiessential amino acid in animals. A large number of studies have found that it can play an important role in improving animal reproductive performance. Therefore, this article reviews the basic properties of taurine and the research progress on its impact on animal reproductive performance, which provides a reference for the wide application of taurine in animal production.
