Abstract:Paratuberculosis of sheep is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium paratuberculosis with intractable diarrhea and significant thickening of intestinal mucosa as the main clinical features. Most of them present invisible infection. The disease has a long incubation period, spreads rapidly, and is globally distributed. Its harm to animal husbandry is huge. Based on the actual situation of the research progress of ovine paratuberculosis, this paper summarizes the current research and discussion on the etiology, epidemiology, pathogenic mechanism, clinical diagnosis and comprehensive immune prevention and control of ovine paratuberculosis. This provides a theoretical basis for the diagnosis and prevention of paratuberculosis in sheep. On this basis, it is proposed that the government needs to formulate effective policies for the prevention and control of paratuberculosis in sheep. Farms need to strengthen feeding management and form a scientific and effective prevention and control system, which provides theoretical support for the sustainable and healthy development of animal husbandry in China.
