    Abstract:

In this study, different types of natural grasslands were used as the research object, and the effects of three utilization modes of grazing prohibition and enclosure, coolseason grazing and perennial grazing on aboveground biomass and species richness were studied. The results showed that perennial grazing significantly reduced the aboveground biomass of alpine meadow and temperate steppe (P< 0.05), and there was no significant difference between grazing prohibition and coolseason grazing (P< 0.05). Coolseason grazing significantly reduced aboveground biomass in temperate desert steppe (P< 0.05). The species richness of alpine meadows and temperate steppes prohibited from grazing was significantly lower than that of perennial grazing (P< 0.05). Grazing prohibition and coolseason grazing had no significant effect on the species richness of the temperate desert steppe (P< 0.05).
