Abstract:From April to June 2024, the yak calves of a yak breeding cooperative in Gande, Qinghai, showed clinical symptoms such as depression, lethargy and diarrhea. To confirm the causes of the disease, 10 anal swabs and fecal samples of diarrhetic calves were collected, and PCR method was used to detect Bovine coronavirus, Bovine rotavirus, Bovine viral diarrhoea virus, Bovine adenovirus, Bovine enterovirus, Bovine torovirus, Bovine norovirus, Bovine nebovirus, EimeriaSspp., Cryptosporidium spp., and Giardia. The results showed that, in all the 10 diarrhoea faecal samples, only Bovine coronavirus was detected as positive, and no other pathogens were detected. The results indicated that yak calves’ diarrhoea in this cooperative was caused by Bovine coronavirus infection. This study provided some reference for the prevention and control of yak calves diarrhoea in the cooperative.
