武威市凉州区农业资源得天独厚，是全省肉羊产业强县，羊饲养量稳居全省前3位。近年来，凉州区着力打造沿山沿川沿沙“三大特色产业带”，大力发展牛羊猪禽菜果菌薯药草“10+N”特色产业，武威普康国家级种羊核心育种基地，青瑞源省级种羊场等一批重点农业项目落地建设，初步构建起了肉羊产业体系，肉羊产业发展势头强劲。
